How to Get Started in Real Estate
Step 1:
Your first step is to complete the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) approved 63 Hour Pre-licensing course.

Step 2:
After enrolling in the pre-licensing course, you must now complete the state application.
You can apply online at the Florida DBPR website.
You can also Print the State Application.
On average it takes about two (2) weeks to get state approval, however this may be shorter or longer depending on the current amount of applicants.
Step 3:
Within sixty (60) days of submitting your application, you must get fingerprinted at one of the state's testing centers.
You can schedule your fingerprinting appointment online at the Pearson VUE website.
Step 4:
Once you receive state approval and have completed the pre-licensing course you are now eligible to take the state exam.

The state exam consists of one-hundred (100) multiple choice questions.
Forty-five (45) questions are based on real estate law,

and ten (10) questions are based on basic real estate math.
Each question is worth one point, and there is no penalty for guessing or wrong answers.
Your exam is graded immediately at the test center.
A grade of seventy-five (75) percent or better is required to obtain your Florida Real Estate license.
After passing your exam you will be given a temporary license at the testing center, and you may begin practicing real estate.
You will receive your official copy in approximately three (3) weeks.
